Shalini is a south Indian film actress Tamil, Malayalam. She started acting at the age of three appearing in the film Ente Mamattikkuttiyammakku for which she won the Kerala State Award for Best Child Artiste. As a child artist, Shalini has completed over 80 films in Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu. 

Shalini made her debut as a heroine in the Malayalam movie Aniyathi Pravu which was remade in Tamil as Kadhalukku Mariyadhai - a box-office hit. Her best moments came when Mani Ratnam cast her opposite Madhavan in Alaipayuthey. After her marriage left the film industry. 

Shalini has a younger sister - Shamili - who is also an actress. 

Shalini is a Very good Badminton Player and played in a few state level touranaments and Won some titles also. 

She is a good singer. The actress learnt carnatic music from a teacher. She even sang a song in "Amarkalam" movie. 

Its very interesting to know about that, its love cum arrange marriage. She is married in The famous Actor in Ajith Kumar in 2001. Now she is happily settled in Chennai. 

She helps Ajith in his films also. She hears the stories of the directors, accompanies him during his shooting, takes care of his Callsheets, looks after his "A.K.International" office, she even drives his car taking him to shooting places etc.
