Actress Tejashree, who is now appearing as heroine in a film, had vowed that she will never appear in item numbers. But she has done an item number in Kadhalna Summa Illa at the request of Ilankannan. She said she feels indebted to the director who gave her a break in Ottran and thus accepted this role for his sake. She also added that she does not have any idea of returning to item numbers as such. 

Tejashree was born and brought up in Nasik. She completed her education and graduated in Kathak Visharath in 1995 under her father, kathak dance master Jaikumar Khele, who is himself very well known. 

after doing modelling ,and one Gujrati film, Tejashree got an ad in south...while shooting for this ad in chennai AVM studio,she got the first offer for a tamil film 'Ottran' and soon her song and her dancing style became populer and tejashree became talk of the town....and her career journey started.she was casted in all big projects. She appeared in many telgu and kannad movies. 

Since Tamil Movie, Tejashree has appeared in many big budget films, with overall success, she has played many importante roles in good subjects. Tejashree has appeared in many Telgu and Kannada films, as well as those in Gujrati and Marathi.
