If you had to choose between a night in with your hubby, or with Hollywood royalty such as Brad Pitt or Johnny Depp, which one would you pick?

Well, surprisingly almost half of us would apparently would prefer to spend a night in with our other half, according to a new survey.

The study, commissioned by Penn State Pretzels has revealed that in times of economic uncertainty and worry, we pull together to present a united front.

Penn State Pretzels' study, which questioned over 1,000 25-44 year old women throughout the UK,gave participants a list of potential suitors for a perfect night in. ‘Your partner’ was a clear winner, receiving almost 50% of the votes staving off tough competition.

Some other results from the survey found that we really do like men that make us laugh! After our partners, comedians topped the bill as a popular companion for an evening at home.

Rather than opting for a bit of eye candy, such as George Clooney or Robbie Williams, we prefer to be entertained and its well-known comics such as Alan Carr, Stephen Fry, Dawn French and Catherine Tate that are making us laugh, receiving 37% of the overall votes.

The legacy of Faulty Towers and Monty Python ‘carry on’ as we live up to our ‘stiff upper lip’ stereotype, refusing to let the current economic crisis get us down, we appear to want to laugh away our blues.
